The Richardson Recreation and Wellness
Centre is a project that, once operational,
could serve up to 35,000 users.
The multi-use facility will be the hub of
activity in the Swan Valley and will have
great exposure and accessibility for all
Valley residents.
The construction of a $11.8 million Aquatic
Center, the cornerstone of the facility, is
moving forward and is expected to be
operational by mid 2013. The project
has been structured to allow for additional
components of the facility to be built as
funding becomes available.
The Richardson Recreation and Wellness
Centre will continue to make our
community attractive to family, business and
industry while adding appeal for newcomers
and tourists.
No one is too young or too old to enjoy the
benefits of regular physical activity.
Frequent and regular physical exercise
boosts the immune system and helps prevent
disease. Exercise helps our bodies
reach peak performance, aides in building
overall strength, bone density, healthy
joints and muscles and assists in
maintaining a healthy weight.
The Richardson Recreation and Wellness
Centre will provide Swan Valley residents
with access 365 days a year to exercise and
fitness facilities that are currently
unavailable in the area.
Regular exercise promotes a healthy mind and
body which are essential to a child's
overall development. The Richardson
Recreation and Wellness Centre will be the
perfect place for families to spend some
quality time together while reinforcing
healthy lifestyle choices. The ideal
location next door to the Swan Valley
Regional Secondary School will provide over
600 students, from all over the Swan Valley,
with an opportunity to get active and stay
healthy.
